About our annual Make We Joy

Make We Joy is an annual multi-cultural tradition centered around the shortest-day of the year. Started in 1981, the festival draws audiences from all throughout New England and has been featured in many publications as one of the premiere New England holiday traditions. It was previously was held at Connecticut College for many years and is now produced by Flock Theatre at Mitchell College. The performance is a large pageant that includes folk dance, poetry, choral music, ritual, and more to celebrate the shortest day.
