AUDITION NOTICE

Flock Theatre prepares for its 30th annual outdoor summer Shakespeare season and spring show by holding auditions on Jan 31st and Feb 1st for Jane Eyre, As You Like It, and Henry V. 

For the spring show, Flock will remount Jane Eyre, which had been previously converted into a Zoom film in 2020. The new production will be presented live at the Shaw Mansion in New London in May 2024. The play, based on Charlotte Brontë’s classic novel, is a new adaptation written by long-time Flock collaborator, Julie Butters, who previously adapted Little Women with the company also for the Shaw Mansion. In its 30th summer Shakespeare season, Flock will pair the pastoral comedy As You Like It with the crowd-pleasing history play Henry V (which finishes the “Henriad” and continues Flock’s War of the Roses series). The plays will be presented in June and July in the CT College Arboretum and Westerly’s Wilcox Park, among other venues.

Audition info:
Initial auditions will be held by appointment only on January 31st and February 1st at the Thames Club in New London, CT. 

Time slots will be available both during the afternoon and evening and will last about 10-15 minutes. Please note that auditioners do not need to attend multiple days, just one. Zoom auditions are possible by request.

Actors of all ages and experience are welcome. Familiarity with the plays is encouraged. Auditioners will be provided sides from the plays. No monologue preparation necessary.
